Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach - Posted 6/2/2022

Job Description: Off Ice Athletics is accepting applications for a position as a part-time assistant strength and conditioning coach primarily at our Summerlin location. As an assistant coach, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and employment of off-ice training programs for hockey teams, individual hockey players and figure skaters, and individual general population clients, under the guidance of our head coach. We are looking for a coach who will establish strong relationships with our staff and clients, as well as someone with an openness to grow and learn with us!

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop, document, and administer well thought out strength & conditioning programming

• Provide high quality coaching and cuing in individual client sessions and group team workouts

• Promote and build training client base with guidance from head coach

• Coach group training sessions for teams and camps

• Be flexible with your schedule based on the training needs of the business

• Be comfortable working with a large age range of athletes/clients

• Help maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the gym

• Cover training at Henderson location as needed

• Work independently to stay up to date on training techniques and literature

• Maintain coaching/training credentials, as well as work on continuing education

• Willingness to learn/understand hockey/figure skating to provide better quality coaching to athletes

Desired Requirements:​

• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field from accredited university

• Possess an applicable training certification; preferably CSCS (through NSCA)

  • Be willing to obtain a certification listed above if not already in possession​

• Current CPR/AED certification​

• A desire to work with/learn to work with ice-based athletes

• Ability to lift up to 100lbs
